Responsibilities

  • Conduct water quality assessments, treatment evaluations, and process optimization studies
  • Design and implement water treatment solutions, including filtration, disinfection, and chemical treatment processes
  • Develop sampling and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local water quality regulations
  • Analyze water quality data and provide technical recommendations to improve treatment efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Support pilot testing and full-scale implementation of water treatment technologies
  • Assist in preparing reports, technical documents, and regulatory submissions
  • Ensure compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and other relevant regulations
  • Work with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals
  • Keep up to date with evolving water quality standards and treatment technologies
  • Provide technical support and consultation to clients regarding water treatment challenges
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and project discussions
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and technical presentations
  • Work closely with engineers and other specialists within the firm to deliver high-quality consulting services
  • Assist in mentoring junior staff and providing technical guidance
  • Participate in professional development and industry events to enhance expertise

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • 6-12 years of water project experience
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer within Canada 
  • Experience includes water treatment facilities, source water assessments, water storage, and groundwater treatment
  • Must have demonstrated experience in the design and construction phase of small, medium, and large sized water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Ability to deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in environmental engineering 
  • Water quality expertise  
  • Design and construction phase experience
